Football season in the Wal-Win area begins this week and WJLX brings fans plenty of programming to get your sports year started.
On Wednesday night on the B&B show, Jasper head football coach Philip Bailey joins the boys in the second hour for his last practice update of the preseason, a chat about life on and off the gridiron and his own music selections from 1998. In the final hour, Johnathan Bentley, sports editor of the Daily Mountain Eagle, joins Brian and Bas for a round table of predictions for teams in the Wal-Win this season.
On Thursday, Brett Elmore hosts Curry head football coach DJ Emerson in the Coach’s Corner from 6 to 6:30 p.m., followed by the Coach Philip Bailey Show from 6:30 to 7 p.m. That leads to kick-off to the Winfield Pirates at the Dora Bulldogs on both WJLX 101.5 FM and WJBE 88.5 p.m.
Friday night brings two football broadcasts, with the Jasper Vikings hosting Center Point on WJLX, pregame beginning at 6:30 p.m. On WJBE, the Wal-Win Area Game of the Week, as archrivals Winston County and Addison meet with pregame beginning at 6:45 p.m.
The week concludes with WJLX GameDay Final at the conclusion of the Jasper-Center Point broadcast.
