The Bevill State Bears opened the 2022 season with a pair of losses to the Enterprise State Boll Weevils, 8-0 and 14-11, on Tuesday in Enterprise.
In Game 1, Hannah Payne pitched four innings, recording two strikeouts. Anna Lacy pitched one shutout inning with a strikeout and Katelyn Makemson pitched two-thirds of an inning with a strikeout.
At the plate, Santana Clark, Katie Puckett and Magen Caro all had a hit.
In Game 2, Clark pitched three and two-thirds innings, with a strikeout. Lacy pitched one and two-thirds innings with a strikeout and Payne pitched two-thirds innings with a strikeouts.
Offensively, Alex Martin was 4 for 4 with two doubles, four RBIs and a run scored, MacKenzie Kirby went 4 for 5 with a homerun, two doubles, four RBIs and two runs scored, Puckett was 3 for 5 with a double and three runs scored, Clark recorded two hits, Pane had a two-run double, Caro, Catherine Hickey and Brentli Champion both recorded a hit with a run scored and Savannah Neely and Brandy Johnson scored a run each.
