Jasper’s Preston Reed and Oakman’s Bubba Odom had outstanding efforts in their teams’ respective victories on Friday night, earning WJLX Players of the Week honors, sponsored by Southeast Hospice.
Reed proved clutch in the Vikings’ thrilling, 20-16 win over the Cullman Bearcats, catching six passes for 107 yards and a touchdown — including the game-winning score on a 33-yard halfback pass from Jaden Caldwell.
Second-year starter Odom was nearly flawless in the Wildcats’ 66-18 victory over Curry, connecting on 14 of 16 passes for 297 yards and five touchdowns.
