Braden Woodard was brilliant on the hill on Thursday, as Woodard threw a no-hitter to lead Sumiton Christian past Cornerstone 24-0.
Landon Shumate led Sumiton Christian to victory by driving in seven runs. Shumate went 3-for-4 at the plate. Shumate drove in runs on a double in the first, a grand slam in the first, and a single in the first.
Woodard was credited with the victory for Sumiton Christian. Woodard surrendered zero runs on zero hits over five innings, striking out eight and walking zero.
Sumiton Christian racked up 17 hits on the day. Sam Nix, Shumate, Hicks, Whiten, and Young all had multiple hits for Sumiton Christian. Whiten, Hicks, Shumate, and Nix each managed three hits to lead Sumiton Christian.

Corner 7, Cordova 4 – Game 1

Garrett Gilmore pitched four innings, recording two strikeouts. Dunagan pitched two innings, giving up a hit, a run and striking out one batter.
Cade Naramore led the at-bad leaders, going 2 for 4 with two RBIs.

Japeth Howell pitched two and two-thirds innings with two strikeouts, while Cody Headrick pitched one and one-third innings, recording two strikeouts in the no-hit win by Corner.

Brayden Davis pitched five innings, striking out eight batters.
At the plate, Brodie Naramore went a perfect 5 for 5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs, Trent McBryde was 3 for 4 with a triple, three runs scored and three RBIs, Eli Kennedy went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and an RBI, Jacob Bentley was 2 for 4 with two run scored and two RBIs and Davis went 2 for 3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI.
