The Oakman Wildcats’ Denzel Chatman is taking his football career to the next level.
The two-year starter signed NJCAA powerhouse and national champion New Mexico Military Institute on Wednesday at a signing ceremony hosted by his alma mater.
Despite missing several games in his senior season, Chatman still led the Wildcats in receiving, catching 28 passes for 683 yards with eight touchdowns.
The recipient of several weekly and seasonal awards, Chatman was named as a second-team All-State at wide receiver after his junior year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.
