Multiple drug arrests made over the weekend

Nine people were arrested by the Walker County Sheriff’s Office over the weekend on various charges, including outstanding warrants and possession with intent to distribute.

Sheriff Nick Smith seized methamphetamine after stopped a vehicle on Old Birmingham Highway near Gardner’s Gin Road on Friday.

James Ray Henson, 46, of Townley, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Saturday, School Resource Officers Sgt. Josh Richardson and Tim Brand stopped a vehicle after discovering it traveling at a high rate of speed down Highway 78 near the Valley School crossing. The suspects were allegedly trying to get away from deputies but made a “wrong turn” and were stopped just inside the city limits of Jasper.

Deputies Joseph Chappell and Sgt. Mark Bell responded to assist. Chappell found distribution weight of methamphetamine, heroin, crack cocaine, powder cocaine and $80 of counterfeit U.S. currency inside the vehicle.

Megan Lashae Herron, 31, of Birmingham, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Clifton Lamar Jones, 35, of Cordova, was arrested and charged with possession of a forged instrument 1st and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drug Task Force Agent Jared Hall made several arrests on Sunday. Hall seized methamphetamine, Suboxone, distribution weight of amphetamines and drug paraphernalia. Hall also located a U-haul rental vehicle that had been reported stolen.

Nicholas Noel Diffy, 32, of Empire, was arrested for carrying a pistol without a permit.

Phillips Michael Wells, 52, of Adamsville, was arrested for two counts of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine and Buprenorphine), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Amanda Shae Moore, 33, of Graysville, was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance (21 grams of amphetamine), and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dylan Justice Sexton, 24, Adamsville, was arrested on a warrant with the Jasper Police Department.

Sydney Caylin Rhodes, 23, of Empire, was arrested on a warrant with the Dora Police Department.

Sidney Ronald Wilson, 37, of Jasper, was arrested on a failure to appear warrant with the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.
