The Jasper Vikings’ Cole Carter finished in first place for the 197 lbs. weight class, with the team attaining eighth place overall at the Scott Rohrer/Hoover Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
The Vikings, one of 16 teams competing in the Invitational, had 10 ten wrestlers earn an eighth place finish or higher.
Colin Langley (287 lbs.) and Carter Reed (147 lbs.) both finished in third place, Ethan Caldwell (122 lbs.), Antonio Nash (134 lbs.), Jaylen Martinez (140 lbs.), and Preston Reed (172 lbs.) earned fourth-place finishes, Kortez Samuels (108 lbs.) took fifth place, while David Baradell (128 lbs.) and Cooper Brooks (134 lbs.) finished seventh.
