The Jasper Vikings’ Cole Carter (195 lbs.) and the Dora Bulldogs’ Jonathan Foster (170 lbs.) secured victories in the Championship Semifinals on Friday to wrestle for AHSAA State Championship on Saturday at Huntsville’s Von Braun Civic Center.
Carter won his Class 5-6A Semifinal match by 6-3 decision to advance to the title match. Foster scored a pinfall victory in the Semifinal match to earn a championship berth.
Both programs also have wrestlers competing for final placement on Saturday.
Jasper’s Preston Reed (160 lbs.) and Colin Langley (285 lbs.) will both wrestle for 3rd place, while Cooper Brooks (138 lbs.) and Ethan Caldwell (120 lbs.) will compete for 5th place.
Dora’s Damon Clayton (126 lbs.) will also wrestle for 3rd place.
