Jasper’s Cole Carter (195 lbs.) and Ethan Caldwell (120 lbs.) opened the first day of the AHSAA 5-6A State Wrestling Tournament win a pair of wins in the championship bracket to advance to Friday’s Semifinal matches.
Carter scored two pinfall victories, while Caldwell opened the tournament with a pinfall win and followed with a overtime, 6-4 win in the Quarterfinals.
Battling for placement in the consolation bracket for Jasper are Antonio Nash (132 lbs.), Cooper Brooks (138 lbs.), Carter Reed (152 lbs.), Preston Reed (160 lbs.), Jamie Burnam (182 lbs.) and Colin Langley (285 lbs.)
