FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JASPER, Ala. — In the 1990s and early 2000s, radio duos ruled the airwaves. Major markets like Birmingham had iconic pairings such as Mark and Brian, Rick & Bubba, Beaner & Ken and Patti & Dollar Bill. But even the smaller Jasper market had a legendary team of its own — Bill & Barry.

Now, after more than 25 years off the air together, Bill Watt and Barry Patilla are reuniting for a brand-new chapter.

“Bill & Barry’s Low Budget Radio Show” will debut Friday, Feb. 27, on WJLX 101.5 FM and AM 1240. The program will air weekly on Friday mornings from 7 to 9 a.m., with live streaming available at www.wjlx1015.com.

The original “Bill & Barry Show” launched in the early 1990s and quickly became a staple of Jasper radio for nearly a decade. Known for their quick wit, unpredictable antics, and community-centered humor, Watt and Patilla built a loyal following across Walker County.

Over the years, no topic was off limits. Serious subjects became comedy gold, and comedic bits occasionally took on a life of their own — including one memorable April Fool’s Day prank that ended with the duo being handcuffed and escorted from their studio to the Jasper Police Department.

Despite their reputation for pushing the envelope, Bill & Barry were never shock jocks. At their core, they were two friends who loved their hometown and wanted to create unforgettable moments and plenty of laughter for their listeners.

Now, they’re back — ready to relive classic memories and create brand-new ones for a new generation of listeners.

Tune in, buckle up and get ready for a wild ride as “Bill & Barry’s Low Budget Radio Show” returns to the airwaves on WJLX.
