Bevill State Softball splits with Chattahoochee Valley

The Bevill State Bears split Tuesday’s double header with Chattahoochee Valley, falling in Game 1, 14-9, before winning Game 2, 9-8, in Dora.

Santana Clark pitched eight inning in Game 1, recording two strikeouts. At the plate, Savannah Neely went 3 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored, Brentli Champion was 2 for 4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored, Clark had a solo homerun with two runs scored, Catherine Hickey added a solo homerun, Katie Puckett recorded a hit with a run scored and an RBI, MacKenzie Kirby and Sydney Borden drove in a run each and Magen Caro scored two runs.

In the Game 2 win, Hannah Payne pitched five and one-third innings, with three strikeouts. Katelyn Makemson pitched one and two-thirds innings. Offensively, Champion went 3 for 4 with a homerun, four RBIs and a run scored, Hickey was 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI, Neely went 2 for 2 with three runs scored, Caro was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Kelsi Lemmond went 2 for 2 with a run scored, Kirby was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI, and Puckett hit a triple.
