The Bevill State Bears split Wednesday’s games against Northeast Mississippi, losing Game 1 13-3 before taking Game 2, 4-3.
In Game 1, Hannah Payne pitched two and two-thirds innings, Katelyn Makemson pitching an inning, giving up a hit with a strikeout, and Anna Lacy pitched one-third inning. At the plate, Savannah Neely went 2 for 2 with a triple and an RBI, MacKenzie Kirby hit a double with an RBI and a run scored, Magen Caro recorded a double, Katie Puckett drove-in a run with a run scored, and Santana Clark scored a run.
Makemson pitched seven innings in the Game 2 win, recording five strikeouts. Offensively, Caro had a two-run double, Caro recorded a double, Clark and Jana Morrow both had a hit with a run scored, Hickey and Puckett each drove-in a run on a hit and also scored a run.
