Bevill State honored sophomores Skylar Hice, Jervae Peters, Camp Scott, Carterius Evans, Cornelius Grant, CJ Beckham and Maurice Johnson on Monday night, while celebrating the Bears’ 74-72 victory over the Lawson State Cougars at Glen Clem Gymnasium.
Jordan Bell led Bevill State with 20 points, seven rebounds and five blocked shots, while Evans recorded his fourth-straight double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Beckham had 15 points, nine rebounds and two blocks and Peters scored 14 points with two steals.
On the night, the Bears recorded 12 blocked shots.
The contest was tied at 34-34 at the half, but began with a 19-1 Bevill State run to begin the second period, a lead the Bears held until the final buzzer.
Bevill State closes the season on Wednesday at Gadsden State.
