The Bevill State Bears recorded a pair of victories over the Southern Union on Thursday, 5-3 in Game 1 and 11-9 in Game 2.
Hannah Payne pitched five innings in the Game 1 win, giving up three hits and an earned run. Santana Clark pitched two innings, giving up a hit and two earned runs.
At the plate, Catherine Hickey went 2 for 3, both doubles, Magen Caro was 2 for 4 with a run scored, Kaylee Robinson had a double with a run scored and two RBIs and Sydney Borden drove-in a run on a double as the at-bat leaders.
Payne pitched four innings in Game 2, giving up four hits. Anna Lacy pitched two innings with two strikeouts and Katelyn Makemson pitched an inning with two strikeouts.
Offensively, Caro went a perfect 3 for 3 with a double and two runs scored, Brentli Champion was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI, Borden hit a double with a run scored and an RBI and Katie Puckett drove-in a run on a triple.
