The Southern Union Bison battled-back from a 15-point, second-half deficit to the Bevill State Bears and hit the game’s final shot with seven seconds remaining in regulation to clinch an 85-83 victory on Wednesday night in Wadley.
Carterius Evans led the Bears with 19 points and seven rebounds, Jervae Peters scored 17 points, Cornelius Grant had 15 points, CJ Beckham scored 11 points and Cam Scott had 10 points.
Bevill State held a 44-40 lead at the half, eventually posting a 15-point edge, 60-45, in the second half before Southern Union surged back.
