Jasper clinches area title with double-header wins over Jackson-Olin

Lukas Clark got the win in Game 1, 15-3, giving up two hits and an earned run, while striking out three batters in four innings. Jon Landrum pitched an inning, giving up a hit with three strikeouts.

Offensively, Ayden Payne went 3 for 4 with a homerun, four runs scored and three RBIs, Aiden McGinnis was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBIs, Kevin Elmore drove-in two runs on a hit, Spencer Rosenfeld and Dalton Dockins both had a hit with two RBIs and Tyler Morrison, Clark and Cole Sargent all recorded a hit with two runs scored as the at-bat leaders.

Jackson Ballard pitched five innings in the 13-2 Game 2 win, giving up three hits with 10 strikeouts.

At the plate, Tyler Morrison went 2 for 3 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI and Landrum was 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs as the at-bat leaders.

Sulligent 5, Carbon Hill 4

Laney Keeton pitched five and two-thirds innings, recording 15 strikeouts. Logan Harper pitched one-third inning.

At the plate, Jesse Walker recorded a hit with two RBIs, Douglas Pate and Ashton Vaughn both had a hit with a run scored and an RBI and Jase Julian recorded a hit with a run scored as the at-bat leaders.

Hayden 10, Cordova 0

Garrett Gilmore pitched four and two-thirds innings, recording eight strikeouts.

Cade Naramore had two hits.

Sumiton Christian 17, Meek 1

Jake White was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Thursday, driving in five on two hits to lead Sumiton Christian past Meek on Thursday.

Sumiton Christian Eagles Varsity put up five runs in the fourth inning. Justin Hicks, White, Landon Shumate, and Austin Scobey all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Justin Hicks took the win for Sumiton Christian Eagles Varsity. He lasted five innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out nine.

Ethan Barton took the loss for Meek. He went one inning, allowing seven runs on five hits.

The Eagles tallied 12 hits in the game. Sam Nix, Jake McDonald, Yancey Young, and White all managed multiple hits for Sumiton Christian. White, Young, McDonald, and Nix each collected two hits to lead Sumiton Christian.

Braylen Roberts went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Meek in hits.

Dora 8, Fultondale 5

Garrett Hogland pitched five and two-thirds innings, giving up four hits and an earned run, while striking out 11 batters. Camden Hines, James Mata and Boone Martin shared time on the mound in relief.

Offensively, Hogland went 2 for 4 with a triple, a run scored and two RBIs, Cooper Martin was 3 for 6 with a run scored, Boone Martin went 2 for 5 with a double and three RBIs, Dakota Cobb hit a double with an RBI and Jeremiah Pruitt recorded a double with a run scored as the at-bat leaders.

McAdory 6, Curry 0

Brodie Naramore pitched three innings with a strikeout. Blanton Gillespie pitched three innings.

At the plate, Naramore and Brayden Davis each had a hit.

Carbon Hill 10, Sumiton Christian 7

Haleigh Lamon pitched seven innings in the win for Carbon Hill, recording three strikeouts.

Offensively for the Bulldogs, Mahaley Pugh went 2 for 3 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs, Brittany Parker was 2 for 3 with a double, a run scored and three RBIs and Alleigh Keeton went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and an RBI as the at-bat leaders.

Kalista Cornelison pitched six innings for Sumiton Christian, striking out four batters.

At the plate for the Eagles, BG Braswell went 2 for 3 with a run scored and three RBIs, Maddie McCrary was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Cornelison hit a double with a run scored as the at-bat leaders.

Curry 8, Hatton 0

Alena Howse pitched four shutout innings, giving up two hits with four strikeouts.

Offensively, Ambrey Taylor went 2 for 3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, Kylee Trotter was 2 for 3 with a run scored and two RBIs and Linley Tubbs had a hit with a run scored as the at-bat leaders.

Ella Wright pitched five innings, giving up three hits and an earned run, while striking out five batters.

At the plate, Tubbs went 2 for 2 with a homerun, two runs scored and two RBIs, Lanie West was 2 for 2 and Reese Miller had a double with a run scored as the at-bat leaders.
