Jarret Morrison pitched three innings, striking out two batters. Ayden Payne pitched three shutout innings, giving up a hit with three strikeouts and Spencer Rosenfeld pitched an inning, giving up a hit with a strikeout.

At the plate, Payne went 2 for 3 and Tyler Morrison had a solo homerun.

Cordova 7, Carbon Hill 6

Garrett Gilmore pitched five inning in the win for the Blue Devils, striking out seven batters. Hunt and Japeth Howell shared time on the mound.

Offensively for Cordova, Cody Headrick went 2 for 3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI, Howell went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Owens was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI as the at-bat leaders.

Laney Keeton pitched six and one-third innings for Carbon Hill, striking out 16 batters.

At the plate for the Bulldogs, Keeton went 3 for 4, Clay Tittle was 2 for 4 with a run scored and an RBI and Braden Wright went 2 for 4 with an RBI as the at-bat leaders.

Sumiton Christian 13, Lamar Co. 3

Sumiton Christian weathered a push by Lamar County in the fourth inning where the Eagles coughed up three runs, but still won 13-3 on Friday.

Sumiton Christian tallied five runs in the fifth inning. Sam Nix, Tyler Ingle, Kaden Parrish, and Justin Hicks all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Braden Woodard earned the victory on the hill for Sumiton Christian. He allowed six hits and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking zero. Justin Hicks and Yancey Young entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Sumiton Christian saw the ball well on the contest, racking up 13 hits in the game. Sam Nix, Jake Mcdonald, Tyler Ingle, Young, and Ashton Whiten all managed multiple hits for the Eagles. Whiten, Young, Ingle, Mcdonald, and Nix each collected two hits to lead Sumiton Christian.
