Sawyer Irvin was brilliant on the pitcher’s mound on Wednesday, as Irvin threw a no-hitter to lead Sumiton Christian past Jefferson Christian Academy 28-0.
Ty Weldon led the Eagles Varsity to victory by driving in six runs. Weldon went 3-for-4 at the plate, driving-in runs on a double in the first, a single in the first, and a single in the fourth.
Irvin pitched the Eagles to victory. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over four innings, striking out five.
Sumiton Christian tallied two home runs on the day by Sawyer Frazier in the second inning and Austin Hubbard in the second inning. The Eagles tallied 19 hits on the day, with Frazier, Jonah Marshall, Weldon, Grayson Blair, Hubbard, and Nick Perry each managing multiple hits.
