Jasper 6, Dora 3

Jackson Ballard pitched four innings in the win for Jasper, giving up three this and striking out three batters. Trysten Cacioppo, Spencer Rosenfeld and Aiden McGinnis shared time on the mound for the Vikings.

At the plate for Jasper, McGinnis went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Rosenfeld hit a double and had two runs scored, and Dalton Dockins drove-in a run on a double as the top at-bat leaders.

Camdan Hines pitched four innings for Dora, giving up four hits and an earned run, while striking out three batters. Boone Martin pitched three innings, striking out a batter.

Offensively for Dora, Dakota Cobb had a hit with two RBIs, Cooper Martin recorded a hit with an RBI and a run scored and James Mata had a hit with a run scored as the top at-bat leaders.

Oak Grove 8, Sumiton Christian 1

Sumiton Christian fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-1 loss to Oak Grove on Friday.

The Eagles struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Oak Grove, giving up eight runs.

Ashton McClendon took the loss for Sumiton Christian. McClendon went three innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out five.

Sumiton Christian tallied six hits on the day. Kaden Parrish and Tyler Ingle all managed multiple hits for Sumiton Christian. Ingle and Parrish all had two hits to lead Sumiton Christian.

Sumiton Christian 19, Jefferson Academy 0

Sumiton Christian’s three pitchers didn’t allow a single hit, as they defeated Jefferson Christian Academy 19-0 on Friday.

Sumiton Christian secured the victory thanks to 15 runs in the first inning.

Blair pitched Sumiton Christian to victory. The pitcher went three innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out seven and walking one. Braden Woodard threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Ingle started the game for Sumiton Christian. The hurler went one inning, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out three and walking zero

Ty Weldon led Sumiton Christian with two hits in three at bats. The Eagles was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. C J Harlan had the most chances in the field with seven.

Carbon Hill 3, Cold Springs 1

Laney Keeton pitched six innings in the win for Carbon Hill, giving up three hits and an earned run, while striking out 11 batters. Jones pitched one no-hit inning in relief, striking out three batters.

At the plate, Logan Harper had a hit with a run scored and an RBI, Jase Julian recorded a hit and drove-in a run and Blake Wright scored two runs.

Curry 7, Lamar Co. 0

Alena Howse got the six-inning, shutout win, giving up one hit and striking out seven batters.

At the plate, Ambrey Taylor went 2 for 2 with a homerun, a double, a run scored and four RBIs, Linley Tubbs was 2 for 2 with a homerun, a double, two runs scored and two RBIs and Alena Key was 2 for 3 with two runs scored as the top at-bat leaders.

Curry 6, Lawrence Co. 1

Ella Wright pitched four innings in the win, giving up an earned run with five strikeouts.

Offensively, Kylee Trotter went 3 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI, Taylor was 2 for 3 with a run scored, Tubbs hit a homerun with two RBIs and Brenna Wakefield hit a double with a run scored as the top at-bat leaders.

Hamilton 5, Sumiton Christian 2

Alison Kelly pitched two and two-thirds innings, striking out two batters, while Kalista Cornelison pitched two and one-third innings.

At the plate, Izzy Ingle went 2 for 2 with two runs scored, Cornelison was 2 for 3 with an RBI and BG Braswell recorded a double.

Sumiton Christian 2, Marion Co. 0

Kelly got the shutout win, giving up a hit with 11 strikeouts in six innings.

Offensively, Maddie McCrary went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, Annalace Rice was 2 for 2, Braswell recorded a hit and scored a run, Ingle scored a run and Cornelison had a hit.
