The Sumiton Christian Eagles snagged a late lead and defeated West Blocton 5-3 on Thursday. The game was tied at three with Sumiton Christian batting in the top of the seventh when Jake Mcdonald drew a walk, scoring one run.
Justin Hicks was the winning pitcher for Sumiton Christian. The hurler surrendered three runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out two and walking one.
Sumiton Christian racked up eight hits on the day. Sam Nix and Tyler Ingle all had multiple hits for Sumiton Christian with two.
