Sumiton Christian got behind early in the first inning and was unable to mount a comeback. Davis Bowen pitched the five innings for the Pirates, allowing one run on two hits, striking out five and walking one. For the Eagles, Braden Woodard opened the game on the mound, giving up four runs on two hits and a walk. Yancey Young and Sam Nix each had a hit for SCS. Winfield totaled 11 hits in the game.
