The Bevill State Bears retained a flawless record after a pair of victories on Tuesday over Columbia State, 4-2 in Game 1 and 14-9 in Game 2 in Columbia, Tenn.
Jessy Aston got the Game 1 victory, giving up nine hits and an earned run, while striking out three batters. At the plate, Katie Puckett went 2 for 2 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, Addison Rose hit a triple with an RBI, Isabelle Santos had a triple and Santana Clark recorded a hit with two runs scored.
Kyla Edmondson pitched five and one-third innings in Game 2, giving up nine hits and four earned run with two strikeouts. Katelyn Makemson pitched one and two-thirds innings with a strikeout. Offensively, Puckett went 3 for 3 with a homerun, two RBIs and three runs scored, Rose was 3 for 5 with a homerun, a triple, three RBIs and three runs scored, Carlie Burnham hit a double with two RBIs, and two runs scored, Kayla Butler hit a two-run double with a run scored and Clark had a hit with three RBIs.
