The Dora Bulldogs finished Day 1 of the Class 1-4A Wrestling North Super Section in Birmingham’s Bill Harris Arena in third place, with three wrestlers advancing to the tomorrow’s first place matches.
Defending state champion Neil Foster (182 lbs.), Jayden Rouse (120 lbs.) and Damon Clayton (132 lbs.) all advanced to the first place matches after going undefeated on Friday.
Connor Roberts (145 lbs.), Delvin Taylor (160 lbs.) and Aiden Richardson (170 lbs.) lost semifinal matches, but will wrestle in third place matches on Saturday.
Cameron Richardson (195 lbs.) and Cameron Gosha (220 lbs.) will open Saturday battling for a spot in the third place match.
All eight Bulldog wrestlers have assured placement in next week’s AHSAA State Tournament in Huntsville.
