The Bevill State Bears opened their series with Central Alabama by splitting the road portion, winning Game 1, 5-4, followed by a Game 2 loss, 6-2.
Katelyn Makemson pitched three and two-thirds innings in the Game 1 win, giving up two hits and an earned run, with four walks and three strikeouts. Jessy Aston pitched three innings, giving up two hits and an earned run, with four walks and two strikeouts. At the plate, AK Tyree went 2 for 3 with a run scored, Ansley Laye had a hit with a run scored and an RBI, Katie Puckett and Ansley Laye recorded a hit with a run scored each and Addison Rose and Santana Clark both drove-in a run on a hit.
Santana Clark pitched three innings, giving up four hits, two earned runs and two walks, while striking out four batters. Jessy Aston pitched two innings, giving up a hit and two earned runs and Kyla Edmondson pitched an inning, giving up two hits and an earned run. Offensively, AK Tyree drove-in a run on a hit, Catherine Hickey recorded a hit, Skylar Black had an RBI and Clark and Brynn Repicky each scored a run.
