The Bevill State Bears faced-off of their first ACCC opponent of the 2023 season and earned a two-game road sweep over Lurleen B. Wallace, 12-4 and 14-4, on Saturday in Andalusia.
In Game 1, Jessy Aston got the six-inning win, giving up five hits with four runs with two strikeouts. At the plate, Katie Puckett and AK Tyree both went 3 for 4 with a run scored, four RBIs and two doubles, with Puckett adding a homerun. Santana Clark was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and a triple.
In Game 2, Kyla Edmonson pitched four innings, giving up four hits and three earned runs with three strikeouts. Emma Black pitched with final no-hit inning with a strikeout. Offensively, Tyree went 2 for 3 with a run scored and four RBIs, Puckett was 2 for 4 with a run scored and a double, Clark hit a double with two runs scored and three RBIs and Savannah Neely hit a homerun with three RBIs and two runs scored.
