Bears bounce back with a sweep of Meridian

The Bevill State Bears started a new winning streak on Tuesday with a sweep of Meridian, 3-2 in Game 1 and 12-3 in Game 2.

Jessy Aston got the Game 1 win, giving up five hits and two earned runs with five strikeouts in seven innings. At the plate, Santana Clark went 2 for 4 and AK Tyree hit a three-run homerun.

Kyla Edmondson pitched five innings in the Game 2 win, giving up seven hits and three earned runs. Offensively, Isabelle Santos went 2 for 3 with a triple, an RBI and two runs scored and Ansley Laye was 2 for 3, both doubles, with a run scored and an RBI. Down 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning, the Bears plated nine runs led by homeruns by Katie Puckett and Skylar Black, along with with Santos’ triple and never looked back.
