Samuels, Daniel named Week 1 Southeast Hospice POTW

Jasper’s Kevon Samuels and Carbon Hill’s Devon Daniel both had outstanding season-opening performances to earn the Southeast Hospice Player of the Week honors.

In the Vikings’ 35-6 victory over Mars Hill Bible, Samuels caught six passes for 213 yards, scoring a touchdown on an 83-yard strike.

Daniel totaled 306 yards on 15 carries in the Bulldogs’ 66-8 win over the Curry Yellow Jackets, scoring four touchdowns. He had touchdown runs of 26, 13, 47 and 85 yards, and 10 of his 15 carries went for more then 10 yards. He also converted two 2-point conversions.
