Jasper places second at Regional Duals

The Jasper Vikings Wrestling team secured a second-place finish at the Regional Duals Tournament on Tuesday at Carl Cannon Coliseum, beating Hueytown, Northridge and Corner before falling to McAdory.

In the 63-16 opening round victory for the Vikings, Ethan Caldwell (120 lbs.), Antonio Nash (132 lbs.), Cooper Brooks (138 lbs.), Jaylen Martinez (145 lbs.), Preston Reed (160 lbs.), Moises Sanchez (170 lbs.), Cole Carter (195 lbs.) and Collin Langley (285 lbs.) all won by pinfall and David Baradell (126 lbs.) won via 12-9 decision.

In Jasper’s 63-12 second-round win, Carter Reed (152 lbs.), Preston Reed, and Carter won by pinfall and Garrett Caldwell (145 lbs.) won via 7-3 decision.

The Vikings prevailed over Corner in the third round, 58-18, with Brooks, Martinez, Carter Reed, Preston Reed, Carter, Langley and Ethan Caldwell got pinfall wins, Baradell won by 5-2 decision, Nash won by 5-4 decision and Sanchez won by 15-2 major decision.

Jasper fell to McAdory, 41-30, in the final round, with Preston Reed, Langley and Ethan Caldwell winning by pinfall, Brooks won by 7-5 decision and Carter got an 11-4 decision win.
