In the wake of the tragic events in Uvalde, Texas, where many students and teachers lost their lives in a shooting, Tom Fredricks and Clayton Homes are taking action to lend a hand to Addison High School.
On Tuesday, Fredricks presented a $15,000 check to the Town of Addison, with Clayton Homes donating $10,000, to provide funding for a school resource officer.
Fredricks stated it was time to take action after learning the town did not have funds for a school resource officer.
“When Winston County District 1 Commissioner-Elect Rutger Hyche brought this need to my attention, we immediately went and sat down with the Addison chief of police,” Fredricks said. “He shared his vision for school safety enhancement and I was immediately on board. I commend our state legislature on the work that was done in 2018 to increase school safety, but I believe in rural areas like the 14th district, we can offer up much more.”
The Town of Addison has an immediate opening for a School Resource Officer and is taking applications for the next 2 weeks.
