The Bevill State Bears split Thursday’s ACCC double-header with the Central Alabama Trojans, losing Game 1, 4-3 and followed with a Game 2 5-4 victory.
In Game 1, Kate Makemson pitched four innings, giving up three hits with four strikeouts. Anna Lacy pitched three innings, giving up a hit with two strikeouts.
Offensively, Katie Puckett went 2 for 3 with a homerun, a double, a run scored and three RBIs, Sydney Borden was 2 for 3 and Santana Clark and Brandy Johnson scored a run each.
Former Sumiton Christian star A.K. Tyree hit a double for the Trojans.
Clark pitched eight innings in the Game 2 win, giving up six hits with five strikeouts.
At the plate, MacKenzie Kirby went 2 for 3 with a grandslam homerun with a double, Clark was 2 for 4 with a run scored, Johnson had a hit with a run scored, and Catherine Hickey scored a run.
Tyree scored a run for Central Alabama.
