Meek head football coach Houston Powell has been satisfied with his team’s enthusiasm through the first week of fall practice.
On Monday, Powell said with a large portion of the team heavily experienced and having played for the staff for the previous two seasons, motivation to take the program to the next level has been plentiful.
“We had a scrimmage game in front of the fans last Friday night, which went extremely well and has lined up with what we’ve seen from the guys through the summer and the beginning of fall practice,” Powell said. “We’ve gotten plenty of reps for everybody, as well as teachable moments that every coach looks for to improve their team.”
Other notes from the practice update:
– Powell believes his defensive line will be the strength of the defense, but also notes an excellent group of linebackers and secondary players will help solidify the front.
