The 2022 regular season concluded on Thursday and Friday nights, with Jasper’s Micah Pledger and Sumiton Christian’s Kannen DeFoor turned in great performances to earn Player of the Week honors.
Pledger rushed for 103 yards on 20 carries with three touchdowns against Homewood, while also catching three passes for 54 yards, totaling 157 all-purpose yards to be named the Southeast/WJLX Jasper Player of the Week.
In the Eagles’ victory over Berry, DeFoor scored three touchdowns and intercepted three passes defensively to be named Southeast Hospice/WJLX Wal-Win Player of the Week.
Both players will receive plaques and be interviewed to commemorate their efforts.
