Sumiton Christian’s Noah Godwin and Jasper’s Carlos Portillo both had big impacts in their respective Week 10 games to garner Kustom Trophy/WJLX Player of the Week honors.
The Eagles had their best showing of the season against Holy Spirit, with Godwin making plays on offense and defense. He rushed for 157 yards on 19 carries with two touchdowns, caught two passes for 23 yards and recorded 18 tackles on defense (12 solo tackles) to be named Kustom Trophy/WJLX Wal-Win Area Player of the Week.
Portillo has proven lethal in handling the punting duties for the Vikings on the year, pinning opponents deep and allowing his coverage team ample time to reach returners. He is the Kustom Trophy/WJLX Jasper Player of the Week.
