JJ McKay has informed WJLX station owner Brett Elmore that she will be retiring from the radio business effective Monday, June 19th, 2023. JJ has been in the radio business for more than 30 years, and the time has come for her to enjoy some downtime with her family. While we will miss hearing her every day, we wish her much success and plenty of R&R after she wraps up this week.
You might hear JJ occasionally, as she might be working some fill-in shows once she is settled back home. We can’t thank her enough for all that she has done for us here at WJLX, and we wish her nothing but the best during her retirement.
In the interim, Ken Cocker will be filling the afternoon show beginning a week from today, until we make a final decision on JJ’s successor on WJLX.
