Zak McCullar, an aspiring broadcast journalist whose experience already includes writing and webcast shows, has joined the WJLX family as its newest member
He began his coverage of sporting events at the age of 6 when he accompanied his father, Scott, in his correspondence of high school football games for the Daily Mountain Eagle, and in more recent years, helped in the writing of the game stories. For several years, Zak also hosted his own social media show, Zak’s Picks, where analyzed the week’s college football games, as well as appearing on other web-based shows. He was a halftime guest of WJLX’s first-round playoff football broadcast of Lynn vs. Donoho.
An ardent Alabama fan, he frequently attends Crimson Tide athletic events with his father.
Zak will make his broadcast debut with WJLX on Friday night during the Bevill State Bears’ game against Tennessee Valley Prep. Pre-game coverage will begin at 5:50 p.m. with a 6 p.m. tip-off.
