The 2nd Annual WJLX Wal-Win Football Awards Ceremony will be held January 13th at the Jasper Civic Center. It marks the second time an event of this kind to be held in the area with an all-star lineup locally and with our guest speaker.
The event will crown a Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and a “Making a Difference” Award.
The guest speaker will be former University of Alabama standout Trent Richardson.
Trent Richardson had one of the greatest careers in University of Alabama history. Throughout his collegiate career, Richardson led his team to success including the 2009 SEC Championship as well as the 2009 and 2011 BCS National Championship.
While in college he also earned recognition as a unanimous All-American, the SEC Offensive Player of the Year in 2011, and received the Doak Walker Award.
Trent then became the 3rd overall selection in the 2012 NFL Draft. He played for the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts before spending time in the CFL and the Alliance of American Football. During the AAF’s short run in 2019, Richardson led the league with 12 total touchdowns.
