Addison’s Jed Wilkins put up playoff-worthy numbers on Friday night, while Jasper’s Braxton Houston ended the season with a defensive gem on Thursday night to earn player of the week honors.
Wilkins accounted for four touchdowns in the win over Shoals Christian, rushing for 124 yards with two touchdowns, passing for 37 yards with a touchdown, and returning a punt 60 yards for a touchdown to be named the Kustom Trophy/WJLX 101.5 Wal-Win Area Player of the Week.
Houston’s great performance in the season finale against Homewood amounted to 11 tackles to lead the Vikings’ defense and the Kustom Trophy/WJLX 101.5 Jasper Player of the Week award.
